    The wife and I began the celebration early. She bought a fondue pot this week and we just made it and had with apples and crusty french bread. Accompanied by:

    1996 Feuillatte Cuvee Palmes d'Or- Tiny bubbles in the glass, nose very reserved, maybe a hint of lemongrass. Huge amounts of acid, almost overpowering, very tightly wound with a short rather bitter finish. Kinda disappointing given my love for the 1990, but will wait a few years before attempting again. I'll still finish it with the lobster tails soon to come, though!
